Month-long Illinois 157 project starts Monday

CASEYVILLE – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Thursday intermittent lane closures on Illinois Route 157.

The lane closures on Route 157 will be from Collinsville Road to Millstadt Road in St. Clair County. The closures will begin, weather permitting, at 7 a.m. Monday, August 10, for pavement patching. Flaggers will maintain two-way traffic.

An estimate for the project completion is by mid-September.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
