Lake Land College to host spring art show

MATTOON — Lake Land College is now accepting submissions for its upcoming spring art show. The fifth annual event will be April 20-24.

Students, staff, faculty, and community members are all invited to submit their art and participate in the event. Artists of all ages are welcome, as are works in all media, including painting and illustration, photography, graphic art, video, writing, sculpture, fabric and clothing, glass and metalwork, make-up, nail art, and more.

Submissions can be made through the online entry form at LakeLandCollege.edu/lake-land-college-spring-art-show/.

All piece submissions will be on display in the Luther Student Center.

On Wednesday, April 22, the college will hold a special viewing event. The event, hosted in partnership with the Lake Land College Student Activity Board, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. All guests will be able to vote on their favorite pieces.

The art show will conclude on Friday, April 24, with a closing awards ceremony starting at 6 p.m. During the closing ceremony, the top-voted artists will receive recognition with prizes. Refreshments will be provided for all in attendance. The closing ceremony is free and open to the public. Artists will also be able to pick up their submissions during the closing event.
