NOKOMIS — Robert “Bob” Joseph DeLuka, 89, of Nokomis, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 10 p.m. at Nokomis Health and Rehabilitation Center in Nokomis.
Robert was born on February 28, 1935, in Witt, the son of Celio Mario and Ruby Irene (Weller) DeLuka. He married Merilyn June Morgan on October 27, 1954, in Nokomis, and she preceded him in death on August 29, 2010. Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church in Witt, worked as an Illinois State Trooper, and sold feed for Moorman Feed.
He is survived by his daughters Terry (Larry) Brinkman of Nokomis, Dawn (Ron) DeWerff of Nokomis, and Dayna (Jerry) Neisler of Pawnee, grandchildren Brandi (Jim) Barker of Nokomis, Brittany (Wayne) Marshall of Fillmore, Jason (Angel) Brinkman of Taylorville, Jay (Dani) DeWerff of Nokomis, Cody (Jami) DeWerff of Staunton, Gabe (Megan Kwiatkowski) DeWerff of Troy, and Noah (Mia Taft) Neisler of Divernon, great-grandchildren Kaylee Barker of Nokomis, Joey Barker of Nokomis, Micah Barker of Nokomis, Gavin Marshall of Fillmore, Madilyn Marshall of Fillmore, Alysin Marshall of Fillmore, Alexis Barker of Taylorville, Gracie DeWerff, Maddox DeWerff, Lauren DeWerff, Porter West of Nokomis, Kayden Weis, Logan Weis, and Peyton DeWerff of Staunton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter Abby Neisler, and sister Leona Huber.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 7 at Sutton Funeral Home with Dan Easterday and Jimmy Barker officiating. Burial followed in Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis, with military graveside honors.
Memorials may be made to the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis assisted the family with arrangements.
