We'll See About That with Ron Cey Episode 157 Leave Tom Hardy Alone! Ron Cey
The holiday season is the time of the year where large and small business entities compete to get the attention of consumers. Sales and deals run rampant for shoppers whether it’s a product or a service. While there are plenty of marketing strategies for the fall that small businesses will utilize, they usually don’t compare to the bigger shopping season of the year. Digital marketing is one of the leading ways that businesses focus on building their presence during the holiday season. These are some helpful times for winning new customers and gaining sales.
If your small business primarily focuses on the local community such as providing a specific service or product then it’s best to look into updating local listings. Some customers are looking into shopping locally and will go on their phone or computers to look for “businesses near me”. If you’re not utilizing local listings, then your business needs to jump on it. More and more consumers are looking into helping small businesses and during the holiday season, the #shoplocal and #SmallBusinessSaturday tend to run rampant and popular on social media. Online directories to create or update the local listing of your website includes Google My Business, Yelp, Bing Places, your brand’s Facebook page, and Yext.
It’s also helpful to include information for special sales and promotions that are offered this time of year.

Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok are wonderful places where businesses will go to promote themselves. Social media is also a great place to promote special holiday sales, promotions, and even try out digital sweepstakes marketing. During the holiday season, both large and small businesses will get creative with how they market their products and sales.
This is the biggest time where businesses will create contests and sweepstakes to get more people to make purchases. This includes getting consumers to sign up for their newsletters and to follow them on social media. Social media is also known for being a cheaper and effective way of getting a brand out there regardless of ad use.
If your business doesn’t have a big emphasis on content creation, then this needs to change. Content creation is one of the leading ways to gain followers by creating visually appealing, valuable, and entertaining content. It’s best to create content that solves problems that customers may be experiencing during the holidays. Or simply content that consumers can use.
If you sell jewelry, then you may want to create helpful content that shows users how to tastefully wrap presents. If you sell art supplies, you may want to create a tutorial on making Christmas decorations using your products. You can upload videos to YouTube, your website, or any other social media platform. Engaging content creation has been proven to build trust between the brand and its audience.
