‘American Pickers’ returning to Illinois this fall

The History Channel series American Pickers will return to Illinois in September to film new episodes.

The documentary follows antique collectors as they travel the country in search of rare, historic and unusual items.

The show features skilled pickers who look for pieces that have a connection to American history. This could range from vintage signs and toys to old motorcycles and gas station memorabilia.

American Pickers is looking for private collections with rare, historic or unusual items. They include motorcycles, old signs, vintage toys, oil and gas memorabilia, pedal cars, furniture, vending machines, jukeboxes, folk art and military pieces.

The series has long drawn viewers for its mix of history, nostalgia and one-of-a-kind discoveries. Producers say they continue to look for collections that stand out because of both their rarity and the stories behind them.
