Nokomis School Board

The Nokomis School Board will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 19.

Agenda items include:

  • Approval of the North Elementary School Student Handbook for the 2026-2027 school year
  • Approval of the Nokomis Jr./Sr. High School Student Handbook for the 2026/2027 school year

Hillsboro Historic Preservation Committee

The Hillsboro Historic Preservation Committee will meet on Monday, May 18, at 5:30 p.m., at Hillsboro City Hall, located at 447 S. Main St. in Hillsboro. On the agenda is a review of facade grant applications that have been submitted.

Hillsboro Area Public Library Board of Directors

Members of the Hillsboro Area Public Library board of directors will meet on Tuesday, May 19, beginning at 6 p.m. at the library.

On the agenda will be a financial report, circulation and director’s report, and president’s report, as well as discussion about the heating and air conditioning system, Project Next Generation grant, library logo, and the DCEO Energy Transition grant update.

Litchfield School Board

The Litchfield School Board will meet on Tuesday, May 19, at 6 p.m. The Board will meet at the District Office, located at 1100 N. Old Route 66.

Agenda items include:

  • Review and approval of the LCUSD #12 Strategic Plan
  • Review and approval of the intergovernmental agreement for the joint cooperation and operation of an area career center\
  • Annual membership in the IESA Elementary Sports Association
  • The proposed 2026/2027 Consolidated District Plan for the Litchfield School District
  • A resolution to appoint Superintendent Dr. Kelly McClain, as the authorized agent on file for the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF)

Hillsboro City Council

The Hillsboro City Council will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 19, at 7 p.m., at City Hall, located at 447 S. Main St. in Hillsboro.

Agenda items include:

  • Discussion and action of the city’s share of veterans banners for the America 250 celebration
  • Estimates from Mid-State Fire Repair for vehicle and equipment maintenance for the City of Hillsboro Fire Department
  • Estimates for a stand-up mower for the City of Hillsboro Public Properties Department
  • Estimates for largemouth bass for Glenn Shoals Lake

Hillsboro Natural Resources Committee

The Hillsboro Natural Resources Committee will be holding a regular meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at Hillsboro City Hall.

Agenda items include:

  • Approval of terms for committee members
  • Discussion and approval of pool fees
  • Discussion on the lake cleanup scheduled for May 18 to 22
  • Discussion of police presence on the lake
  • Approval of a report on the May 19 City Council meeting
  • Identifying items for the next meeting’s agenda.

Current pool fees are $4 for the day, while seniors 60 and older and children under four with an adult will get in for free. Season pass costs will be $85 for residents, $175 for a family of five residents, plus an additional $25 per person thereafter, $100 for non-residents, and $205 for a family of non-residents, and $25 per person thereafter. Rental costs are set at $135 for two hours, with an $85 down payment and $50 at the time of the event. That price includes two lifeguards on duty. An additional $25 per lifeguard fee will be added for every ten guests after 30.
