Newkomis to hold Kentucky Derby-themed bar crawl

NOKOMIS — Newkomis will be hosting the “Talk Derby To Me” Race for a Reason charity bar crawl on Saturday, May 2.

Participants can expect drink specials, charity spotlights, raffle prizes, and a contest for the best derby hat. The crawl will begin at 3 p.m. at The Depot Pub. Registration and stamp card pickup will take place until 4:30 p.m.

From 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Nokomis FFA will be at Town Pump Bowl & Lounge in memory of K.D.R. and R.A.M.

Newkomis will be at Bernardini’s from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Camren’s Causes will be at Sunny and Reds from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The crawl will end at The Vault, with the charity on site being Keep Kids Warm. Keep Kids Warm is a charity that requests mittens, gloves, and/or stocking caps for donation.

A T-shirt or crewneck purchase includes entry to the bar crawl; otherwise, entry costs $20.

Dinner, courtesy of Curbside Cravings, will be at The Gathering Place from 5 to 7 p.m. Drive-thru, pick-up, delivery, and dine-in options are all available.

Meals are separate from the registration fee for the bar crawl. Proceeds from the dinner will go towards the Senior Meals Program.

Those who turn a stamp card into the designated container at The Vault will be entered into a raffle. The raffle drawing will occur at 7:30 p.m.
