CARLINVILLE — 2025 is crawling to a close, but the City of Carlinville wants to make sure residents are able to provide input on the city’s future.

Carlinville is working on a newer comprehensive plan for the future of the city and has been seeking input via an online survey.

However, time is running out, meaning the time for action is now.

“We will be closing out the online survey by December 31, 2025,” stated Bobbi Bates, the city’s zoning and economic development coordinator. “This survey provides an opportunity for residents to share their priorities, ideas, and feedback on housing, economic development, parks, transportation, and other key areas that will guide Carlinville’s long-term growth.”

“This is your chance to help set the direction for Carlinville’s next 20 years,” Mayor Doug Downey added. “Your input will ensure the Comprehensive Plan reflects the community’s values and aspirations.”

A public workshop will be held in early 2026 to review the results of the survey with the community. At that time, they will seek additional input into revising the city’s current comprehensive plan.

The survey is available through the city’s website at www.cityofcarlinville.com-.

More information on the survey and the city’s comprehensive plan is available by contacting Bates at (217) 854-4076 or by emailing [email protected].
