BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington-area residents will soon have another location for a popular chicken eatery.

Raising Cane’s confirmed to Heartland Newsfeed via email that a restaurant will be opening in Bloomington sometime in 2025. Construction will begin on the new store by the end of the year. This will be the second location in McLean County after the planned location in Normal that will open next year as well.

The current nearest locations are in Champaign and Springfield. The company also confirmed that plans are currently underway for a location in Peoria. The Bloomington and Peoria locations are currently the only planned new stores in the area for the foreseeable future.

Raising Cane’s was founded in Baton Rouge, La. In 1996 by Todd Graves and Craig Silvey. The name originated from Graves’s pet dog. The company currently operates approximately 750 locations across 42 states.

The company also operates restaurants in several Middle Eastern countries such as Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The restaurant is known for chicken strip baskets and sandwiches and their signature “Cane’s Sauce,” similar to Thousand Island dressing.
