BINGHAM — Ross Dale Fish, 94, of Bingham, left us behind on Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Lakeland Rehabilitation and Care Center, Effingham. Rites of cremation have been performed, per his wishes. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Ramsey. Visitation will be one hour before in the church.
Ross was born July 8, 1929, in Ramsey, the son of Jerry and Jessie (Cothern) Fish. He married Marjorie C. Rosenberger and they later divorced. He married Norma Jean Waters in 1979, but she preceded him in death in 2021. Ross spent his life as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing in Wisconsin, going to auctions, and selling fireworks. He retired from Caterpillar after 30 years, ran many businesses including Fish’s Bait Box of Ramsey and Pana Salvage in Pana, and will be missed by many.
Ross is survived by sons Jim (Paula) Fish of Ramsey, Byron (Diane) Fish of Murfreesboro, TN, and Rodney (Diana) Fish of Effingham, grandchildren Jamie (Jason) Ruot, Michelle (Ryan) Zinn, Alison Fish, Amy Randolph, and Jennifer Barenfanger, step-grandchildren Shannon (Delbert) Koontz, Elizabeth Marshall, Larry “Beau” Marshall, Timothy (Crystal) Schmidt, Jason (Justin) Waters, Kyle (Megan) Waters, Ashley (Daniel) Chapters, and Samantha (Robert) Roberts, and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, both wives, grandchild Kelli Fish, step-daughter Pamila Waters Marshall Schmidt, stepson Donald Waters, step-granddaughter Jennifer Marshall, a step-great-grandson, and half-brother Richard Halford.
