NOKOMIS — Summer Rae Eller, 22, of Nokomis, formerly of Ramsey, passed away on March 15, 2024, in Nokomis.
Visitation for Summer Rae Eller will be held Thursday, Mar. 21, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home, 200 East State Street, Nokomis. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Summer was born on November 20, 2001, in Taylorville, IL, to Melvin and Valerie (Smith) Eller, Jr. She was a graduate of Nokomis Hight School with the Class of 2020 and was proud to be an assistant manager at the Dollar General Store in Nokomis, where she was always dependable and very helpful.
She was a cheerleader at Caitlin Junior High School in South Fork. She loved going camping with her family was a ray of sunshine and full of life. Her family and friends say she was kind, graceful, generous, and full of life. Also, she had a heart of gold and was considerate of others. Summer was a snappy dresser, loved shopping for shoes and getting her nails done. She loved to go out to eat Mexican and Chinese food with her friends and was always the life of the party. Summer shared her apartment with her cat, Milo.
Summer is survived by her mother Valerie Smith of Ramsey, father Melvin “Jay” Eller, Jr. of Brownstown, brothers JJ Eller of Brownstown and Dayton Crow of Ramsey, sister Rylee Crow of Ramsey, grandmother Nancy Virden, grandfather Rex Campbell, grandmother Shannia Eller, grandfather Melvin Eller, Sr., and great-grandmother Flonnie Beatty.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Gary Virden, uncles Michael Campbell, Kenneth Smith, and Big “D”, and cousin Kaleb Rhodes.
