Christian County Health Department relocates

TAYLORVILLE — The Christian County Health Department is now at its new home at 703 N. Pawnee after operations were briefly paused to allow for the move.

The health department closed Friday to begin the relocation process from its current location at 902 W. Springfield Road. The move would last until Monday, Dec. 18.

The health department’s first day at the new location was Tuesday.

The new facility was previously home to Christian County Mental Health, now located at 707 McAdam Drive.

“We are excited to be in a more central location, to be more visible,” said Health Administrator Dr. Chad Anderson before the move. “This building will also allow us to grow and be able to serve more people as we grow.”

The location of the new offices is close to Taylorville Memorial Hospital. The eastern side of the hospital campus is across the street.

Dr. Anderson also requests that the community be patient during this transition.

“We know we will go through an adjustment period as we begin to work and see patients and clients in this new building,” Dr. Anderson stated.
