Montgomery County consolidated election races

This spring, voters in Montgomery County will get the chance to select officer-holders in cities and villages, school districts, library districts, park districts, regional school boards, and community college boards.

The consolidated election is set for Tuesday, April 4. Candidates who filed with local election authorities are below.

Municipal

In Butler, three candidates are running for three trustee seats: Cary Cunningham Jr., Cathy Shepherd, and Rachelle Shepherd.

In Coalton, two candidates seek three full-term trustee seats: Steve Lee and Rodney Eller.  No one filed for two two-year unexpired terms.

Coffeen has contested races for both mayor and city commissioner.  Roger Cooper and Robert Wessell are running for mayor, while five candidates are running for four commissioner seats: Brayden Summers, Jodi Ulrici, Susan Middleton, Junior White, and Gabriel Osborn.

In Donnellson, three candidates filed for three trustee seats: Gary Long, Frances Jett, and John Dankoski.  Darrell Jett filed for a two-year unexpired term as village president.

Three candidates filed for three trustee seats in Farmersville: Mark Krager, Joe Poggenpohl, and Lynn Clarke.

In Fillmore, three candidates are running for two trustee seats: Gavin Paradee, Cheryl Schweizer, and Shane Tucker.

Two candidates have filed for three trustee seats in Harvel: Damien Cunningham and Terry Downeny.  No one filed for an unexpired two-year term.

In Hillsboro, Don Downs filed for mayor, and four candidates filed for four commissioner seats: Kendra Wright, Patrick Ward, Fred Butler, and Thomas Justison.

Kenda Caulk filed for Irving village president, while three candidates filed for three trustee seats: Jim Jones, Leora Jones, and Shawn Murray.  No one filed for a two-year trustee seat.

Litchfield has contested races in all four alderman districts.  In Ward 1, Dwayne Gerl and Robert Plowman Jr. filed for one available seat.  David Hollo and Sara Zumwalt filed for one seat in Ward 2, while Dan Newkirk filed for one unexpired two-year term in that ward, Joshua Hughes and Timothy Wright filed for one seat in Ward 3, and Anthony Law, Jacob Fleming, and Lee Jarman filed for one seat in Ward 4.

Nokomis has contested races for both mayor and commissioner.  Dylan Goldsmith and Jonathan “Jocko” Nash filed for mayor, while seven candidates filed for four commissioner seats: Edward Hassebrock, Louis Stauder, Jake Leonard, Derek Durbin, Scott Arkebauer, Tisha Morris, and Michael Glenn.

In Ohlman, four candidates filed for four trustee seats: Michael Linn, Steven Morgason, Ronald Brown, and Dennis Aumann.  Two candidates filed for two unexpired two-year seats: Roger Wood and Malinda Wood.

In Panama, two candidates filed for three trustee seats: Douglas Cruthis and Cathleen Voyles.

In Raymond, three candidates filed for three trustee seats: Daniel Hough, William Krager, and Ryan Bruntjen.  One candidate, Greg Bernhardt, filed for one unexpired two-year term.

Three candidates filed for three trustee positions in Schram City: Earl Eller, Patricia Rhoades, and Kevin Tuetken.

In Taylor Springs, two candidates filed for three trustee seats: Forrest “Wally” DeLong and Sheri Reynolds.

Four candidates have filed for three trustee seats in Waggoner: Ronald Eliason, David Pope, Mark Taylor, and Tanya Hobson.

George Guinn was the lone candidate to file for three trustee seats in Walshville.  No candidates filed for an unexpired two-year term.

In Wenonah, Jason Hill filed for village president, and three candidates filed for three trustee seats: Richard Waggoner, Karla Oltmanns, and Tamara Waggoner.  Matt Bolyard filed for an unexpired two-year term.

In Witt, Timothy Taylor filed for mayor, Alvin Yeske filed for one Ward 1 seat, Randall Lowe filed for a two-year unexpired term in Ward 1, John Livesay filed for one seat in Ward 2, and James VanOstran and David Cearlock filed for one Ward 3 seat.

School board

In the Hillsboro School District, five candidates filed for four available seats: Barbara Adams, Brian Patton, Matthew Lentz, Blake Furness, and Michael Cerutti. Only one candidate can be elected from Hillsboro Township, where Adams and Patton live.

Township restrictions do not come into play in the Litchfield School District, where four candidates have filed for four seats: Mark Bloome, Jimmy Gorowski, David Belusko, and Valerie Cain.

Three candidates seek three seats on the Nokomis School Board: Benjamin Tarter, Megan Bertolino, and Chad Ruppert.

In the Panhandle School District, five candidates are running for four full-term seats: Terry Payne, Heather Millburg, Brett Slightom, Darrin Daugherty, and Dana Pitchford.  Two candidates are running for one unexpired two-year term: Kristen Bormida and Gretchen Ann Rovey.  Only two candidates can be elected from Pitman Township, where Rovey, Millburg, and Slightom live.

Park district

Two candidates filed for three seats on Litchfield Park District Board: Kaitlin Fenton and Katie Cross.  Christopher Bates has field as a write-in.

Two candidates filed for two seats in the Nokomis Community Memorial Park District: Brad Janssen and Dennis O’Malley Jr.

In the Pitman Township Park District, two candidates filed for two seats: Tyler Johnson and Steve Wood.  No one filed for an unexpired four-year term.

In the Raymond Park District, two candidates filed for two seats: Ty Herman and Ava Nicol.  Aaron McWard filed for a four-year unexpired term.

Library district

In the Doyle Public Library District, only Toby Dean filed for two available full terms.  Andrea Peper and Amanda Calderini filed for two available unexpired four-year terms, and only Kimberly Weitekamp filed for two available unexpired two-year terms.

Jessica Sidwell and Cassandra Rovey filed for two seats in the Farmersville-Waggoner Public Library District.

In the Grand Prairie of the West Public Library District, three candidates filed for four seats: Eugena Baker Austin, Joanne Willard and Gloria Leskovisik.  Only Jeannie Alexander filed for two available two-year unexpired terms.

In the Hillsboro Area Public Library District, only Christine Garner filed for two available full-term seats.  Judy Albracht filed for one two-year unexpired term.

In the Litchfield Library District, two filed for two seats: Janice Marshall and Chris Dahler.

In the Nokomis Township Library District, only Judy Ruppert filed for two available full-term seats, and no one filed for one two-year unexpired term.

Rhonda Joyce was the lone filer for two seats on the Witt Township Library Board.

Lincoln Land Community College

Wayne Rosenthal filed for the Lincoln Land Community College board in District 4, and Kenneth Elmore filed in District 7.

Regional School Board of Trustees

Four candidates have filed for three seats on the Regional School Board of Trustees.  Mark Ritter, Kay Dust, Don Scott, and Mary Adams.
