Martin arrested over weekend in Knox County

GALESBURG — A Macoupin County woman wanted on several charges across five counties was placed under arrest in a sixth county. Abigail L. Martin, 25, is facing new charges in Knox County for theft by deceptive practice and forgery.

Martin is in the Knox County Correctional Center awaiting an appearance in court Monday. She is in lockdown under an alias name, Abigail Angelo.

According to our media partners at WLDS, Martin has missed all of her court dates in five counties. She has not made an appearance in Madison, Greene, Montgomery, Morgan, and Fulton counties over the last month. She is wanted on bench warrants in all counties.

Charges in those counties range from practicing nursing without a license to identity theft. Other charges include possession of a stolen vehicle, theft, and deceptive practice.

Martin’s alleged crime spree in Illinois dates back three years. She previously had a case in Sangamon County. However, the county would dismiss the fraud case.

Additionally, Martin has outstanding warrants in North Carolina and South Carolina. We have found that these out-of-state warrants are non-extraditable.

Martin is due to appear in Knox County court today, but nothing is currently available at this time.
