Week 6 is over as high school football in Illinois is three weeks out from the playoffs.
Here are the latest Illinois High School Association rankings (via the Associated Press) following the conclusion of Week 6:
No schools in central or southern Illinois in the rankings.

Not budging from its seven-slot is Normal Community (6-0). Collinsville (6-0) makes its debut in the rankings at tenth
Moline was the only other school receiving votes with 10.

Only one downstate school is in the Class 6A rankings: East St. Louis (5-1). Their 128 votes keep them on top. ESL was first last week.

Other than shuffles in the bottom half of the Class 4A rankings, four of the top five remained solid following their Week 5 games.
This includes 14th-ranked Joliet Catholic, Springfield (Sacred Heart-Griffin), Richmond-Burton, and St. Francis. Joliet Catholic and Richmond-Burton are undefeated, while SHG and St. Francis are 5-1.
There are three 4-2 teams with Chicago (Phillips), Coal City, and Peoria (Notre Dame) holding on to playoff hopes.
Other regional schools receiving votes include Quincy (Notre Dame) 4, Murphysboro 2.

Not much has changed in the Class 3A rankings, unless you’re in the bottom four.
Monticello and IC Catholic once again swap spots, likely due to schedule difficulty. Also swapping spots were Farmington and Princeton. The swap was due to Princeton’s loss.
Other regional schools receiving votes are Nashville 6, Carlinville 2.

In the Class 2A ranking, you were either undefeated at 6-0 or had one loss for a 5-1 record.
The third, eighth, and ninth-ranked teams dropped off the rankings, allowing for people to move up on that vacant real estate.
Moving up are Downs Tri-Valley, Maroa-Forsyth, Bismarck-Henning, Pana, Knoxville, and Clifton Central. Debuting are Athens and Vandalia.

Even in a landside home win for Nokomis (5-1), the voting sportswriters are living very little credence to the Redskins after breaking a five-year losing streak to Alton (Marquette)
Despite that, there are some significant shuffles.
