Deadline approaches for April election in Herrick

HERRICK — The filing deadline for the April 6 consolidated election is fast approaching. Those seeking elected office in the village have until 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21 to file. All positions up in April are for four-year terms.

The village hall is actively accepting petitions during business hours of 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. until Monday. Paper mailings should have been sent out no later than Friday, Dec. 18 to arrive by Monday. The mailing address is PO Box 158, Herrick, IL 62431.

Candidates can also file at their discretion with the Shelby County Clerk, whose offices are located in Shelbyville.

The positions up in April include village president and three village trustees. Two candidates are circulating petitions for village president: incumbent Debbie Allen and William Carlock.

As of press time, no one had picked up or has been circulating petitions for any of the three trustee positions.
