PHILLIPS: Consider Libertarian Kash Jackson over Rauner and Pritzker

Representative Jeanne Ives gave me hope that our state would still be saved. After decades of Democrat control of our state legislature, I wanted to see Rauner succeed, but all I got were betrayals.

After primary night, it dawned on me that we’re left with choosing Pritzker or Rauner. One billionaire or another. Fortunately, there is a third option — Kash Jackson, the Libertarian candidate for Governor.

I was skeptical at first, but then I researched him. Like Representative Ives, he has a military background. He’s also pro-second amendment and fiscally conservative. Plus, Kash Jackson is the ONLY gubernatorial candidate who’s pro-life.

Some say he can’t win, but forget that. There’s a bigger picture. If the Libertarian Party gets 5 percent of the vote, they would then be able to run candidates in all legislative districts, especially those where incumbents run unopposed every election cycle, never forcing them to explain their votes.

I am writing today because I don’t want my fellow Jeanne Ives supporters to hold their nose and vote for “the lesser of two evils.” To the voters who feel so disenfranchised by the Governor that they are contemplating staying home or simply leaving the governor’s spot blank, I feel your pain. I thought the same. We were betrayed by a man who continues to walk a thin line, even after his close call last Tuesday. The revolution doesn’t have to end there though.

Vote your conscience, consider Kash Jackson.
