Perry County tentative multiplier announced

SPRINGFIELD -- Perry County has been given a tentative property assessment equalization factor of 1.0158 for taxes payable in 2026, according to the Illinois Department of Revenue. The equalization factor, also called the multiplier, is used to make property assessments fair and consistent among Illinois counties. State law requires property to be assessed at one-third of market value. The multiplier helps adjust counties that fall above or below that level.
