SPRINGFIELD (UPI) -- Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a bill Tuesday morning legalizing recreational marijuana use, making the state the eleventh to decriminalize the drug. Starting Jan. 1, adults 21 and over may obtain licenses to grow, sell, possess and consume marijuana. PEORIA (UPI) -- A Federal jury found Brendt Christensen guilty of kidnapping and killing University of Illinois scholar Yingying Zhang in 2017. Jurors required less than 90 minutes Monday to find the former teaching assistant guilty of kidnapping resulting in a death and two counts of lying to investigators.
