Maryam Mirzakhani, first woman to win top mathematics prize, dies

(UPI) -- Stanford professor Maryam Mirzakhani, the first and only woman to win the prestigious Fields Medal prize for mathematics, died Saturday after four years with breast cancer, the university announced.
