Role/Title Simulator Techniciann nLocation Philadelphia, PA 19116n nDuration 12 Months (Temp to Direct)n n n nJob Description:n nIn this role, the Simulator Technician II will be expected to perform complex assignments in office, simulator facility, and shop areas.nProjects may be of experimental or design nature.nThis position will solve a variety of complex simulator and/or aircraft systems problems.nBe available to work a flexible schedule which may require assignment to second or third shift, and/or occasional weekend work.nPossess basic understanding of Windows 2000, XP, and Windows 7 operating systemsnPerform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.nAssist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.nDiagnose and correct complex problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.nUtilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.nTrain technicians in basic skills.nProvide technical training for other technicians.nComplete all designated training activities.nActively pursue continued professional growth and training.nPerform pre-flight and post flight on all simulators.nPerform visual alignments.nRun and evaluate required Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Approval Test Guide (ATG)/ Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests.nAssist Engineering Team with modifications, design changes, and software enhancements.nPerform refurbishment and hardware modifications.nPursue knowledge and skills to enhance ability as a technical expert.nIdentify and coordinate efforts to correct training deficiencies.nAssist Group Lead in day-to-day operation of maintenance activities.nLearn and comply with CAE quality management system.nProvide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.nPerform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.nPerform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.nPerform administrative tasks as required.n n n nTechnical/Functional skills:n nMust be able to lift at least 40 pounds over headnMust be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpitnMust be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under the devicenMust be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environmentnMust be able to distinguish colorsn n n nPreferred Skillsn nAdvanced visual system troubleshooting and tuning, including experience with BARCO SIM7Q & F35 projectors, and CAE Medallion 6000 visual systemsnA+ and/or Network+ accredited with a strong understanding of various computer network topologies and troubleshooting techniquesnExperience with CAE S3000 and SIMXXI series simulatorsnSimulator accreditation / certification with civil authorities such as FAA, CAA, etc.n n n nEducation and Experience Required::n n2-year technical degree or equivalent related training.nMinimum of 2 years direct simulator experience with at least 1 years of relative simulator experience per assigned location.nProficiency with all types of test equipment.nProficiency with software diagnostics and utilities on at least 1 type of simulator.nTroubleshooting skills.nAbility to perform in-depth analysis and research for hardware modifications and upgrades.nAbility to assist the Team with modifications, design changes, and software enhancements.nAbility to assist with the development and delivery of technical training for other technicians.nDemonstrated ability as the Technical Expert on at least one major simulator system (i.e. motion, visual, aircraft systems, etc.).nKnowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.nFluency in English
