Position Title: Payroll Coordinator
Reports to: VP of Workforce Management
Location: Maestro Consulting -Lincolnwood, IL
Job Status: Full-Time /Non-Exempt
Position Summary: Primary purpose of this job position is to oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of the payroll needs of the company. Oversight responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
Assist in implementing the day-to-day policies and procedures governing the payroll function
Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll in timekeeping system.
Check and audit timekeeping records; maintain time and attendance records
Make sure that facilities comply with federal, state and local tax regulations
Research discrepancies in payroll information and documentation in timekeeping and vendor websites
Create and maintain all pay types, deductions, benefits and accruals, and union requirements.
Maintain employee profiles in HRIS, process new hire paperwork, tax status changes, and direct deposit enrollment.
Manage PTO and cafeteria benefits programs for each building in Kronos.
Process, balance and facilitate the transmission of incoming and outgoing ACH files to all vendors and banks.
Process incoming ACH authorization requests.
Test new software upgrades to payroll HRIS system before implementing to payroll team.
Escalate any technical issues as needed to Supervisor and or to the software 3rd party vendor.
Generates reports as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Strong leadership, decision making and communication skills
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Demonstrates a superior knowledge of all areas of payroll.
Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft office products and Kronos
Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job
Strong problem-solving skills
Minimum 3 years of experience preferably in a healthcare environment. relevant work experience is required and that can provide required knowledge, skills, and abilities in managing all aspects of payroll responsibilities.
Kronos experience highly preferred
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or 5 plus year experience with payroll in a healthcare environment.
