NEW YORK CITY (UPI) -- A jury on Friday found Martin Shkreli, the pharmaceutical executive who came under scrutiny for hiking the cost of a drug by 5,000%, guilty on three counts related to securities fraud. (UPI) -- Charter Communications Inc. ended speculation it would acquire Sprint Corp., announcing it would not seek a merger between media companies. Discovery to buy Scripps in deal valued at $14.6 billion

SILVER SPRING, Md./CINCINNATI, Ohio (Heartland Newsfeed) -- Discovery Communications Inc. said Monday they have reached an agreement to buy Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $14.6 billion, including $2.7 billion of debt.
