NEW YORK (UPI) -- While Major League Baseball prepares to start the 2020 season next month, baseball's minor leagues canceled its seasons due to the coronavirus pandemic. NEW YORK (UPI) -- The New York Mets signed three veteran players, including former Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Melky Cabrera, to minor league contracts. The Mets announced the additions of right-handed pitcher Hunter Strickland, infielder Gordon Beckham and Cabrera on Monday. DETROIT (UPI) -- Harris English withdrew from this week's Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit after he became the fifth player on the PGA Tour to test positive for the coronavirus. LINCOLN, Ala. (UPI) -- NASCAR has launched an investigation after a noose was found in driver Bubba Wallace's garage at Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Ala.
