NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis City Council met in its regular session on Monday, July 11. Among the issues on deck are ongoing complaints relating to the declining quality of its water. Bryon McLean, a current water customer and Coalton village trustee, made a formal complaint. The complaint pertains to the brown water he's been experiencing. WITT -- The Witt City Council met in its most recent regular session on Tuesday, June 28 with all members present except Alderman Jay Martin. MRG Engineers representative Mitch Hardiek addressed the council regarding a pair of grants with the Illinois Department of Commerce (IDOC). STAUNTON -- The first reading of an ordinance to update the city's zoning map took place during the Staunton City Council's meeting on Monday night, Mar. 14. NOKOMIS -- The Nokomis City Council met in a special session on Thursday, Jan. 27 with the intent of hiring a new police chief. All commissioners were present with the exception of Michael Glenn.
