HILLSBORO -- Commuters may need to seek alternate routes as a sinkhole along Illinois Route 185 between Hillsboro and Coffeen has resulted in it closing indefinitely. Over the weekend, a large sinkhole was discovered 35 to 40 feet away from the highway roughly a mile and a half east of Graham Correctional Center. NOKOMIS -- With the 2024 MLB season closely approaching, the Bottomley-Ruffing-Schalk Baseball Museum (BRS Museum) in Nokomis held its annual Chili Warm-Up event on Saturday, March 23 at the museum. HILLSBORO -- The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) and the Montgomery County Board are teaming up to encourage rural residents to test their internet speed to secure grant funding for upgrades. LITCHFIELD -- Litchfield Health and Rehab Center has opened a new on-premises medical office to treat residents.
