BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — The North East Community Action Corporation is accepting nominations for open board positions in Lincoln, Pike and Ralls counties. The nomination deadline is Friday, September 18.
NECAC seeks nominees for civic interest representative and low-income representative positions. The four-year seats will begin in October, running until September 2030.
Candidates must live in the county they seek to represent. Moreover, nominees must belong to, or receive a nomination from, a local business, labor, civic, fraternal, social, educational or religious organization.
Low-income representative candidates must receive a nomination from either a low-income county resident or an organization that serves low-income residents. Candidates do not need to be low-income themselves.
NECAC will hold the election on Tuesday, September 22. New board members will be installed, and their terms will begin, effective October 27.
Nomination forms are available through NECAC service centers in each county. Candidates also must complete an NECAC biographical questionnaire or submit a personal résumé.
The board meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September, October and November. Meetings are held at the agency’s Bowling Green headquarters. NECAC provides a complimentary meal and reimburses travel costs for board members.
NECAC is a nonprofit agency that provides social services, community health and public-housing programs for low-income residents, older adults, youth and people with disabilities. Its service area includes 12 Missouri counties.
More information is available by calling NECAC at (573) 324-6633.
