VIRGINIA — Three individuals are currently in custody at the Cass County Jail on suspicion of burglary.

According to our media partners at WLDS and existing court records, Aaron Morath of Chambersburg was arrested by Cass County Deputy Adam DeMaree. Also arrested at the scene were Kristan Vidak and Nellie Knous, both of Meredosia. The arrests were made following a traffic stop on Wednesday.

Morath, Vidak, and Knous are facing charges of residential burglary, criminal trespass, theft, and conspiracy.

The arrest report indicates the deputy’s suspicion that the occupants of the vehicle had been involved in illegal activity.

Following a request for a free air sniff from K-9 Echo, there was a positive alert of an odor of illegal narcotics.

Upon a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies would notice items consistent with an address unrelated to the occupants of the truck.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department checked with the homeowner of the alleged burglary. The owners would determine that Morath, Vidak, and Knous never had permission to enter or remove items from his residence.

Upon further investigation, deputies would determine that the trio had been traveling between Meredosia and Chambersburg to commit these crimes.

As of this publication, the first appearance court dates are not known for Morath and Knous. Vidak will appear before Judge Timothy Wessel on March 9, 2026 at 9 a.m.
