This past week has been chaotic due to fighting the usual sinus allergy ailment, so this Sports Brief will be longer than usual. Here is your latest combined edition of the Sports Brief and the Weekend Sports Brief featuring sports results we might not have had ample time to get published on the website:

Battlehawks to host six regular season games in 2025

Press release plus original reporting

ST. LOUIS — While a little late in our news cycle, some good news for the beloved St. Louis Battlehawks, who will host six regular season games in the 2025 season. This will result in the San Antonio Brahmas visiting The Dome at America’s Center twice this upcoming season.

While no immediate reason was provided, it does appear that a new phase of renovations at the Alamodome is set to start sometime in the spring of 2025, which has rendered the facility unable to be used for this game.

UFL President and CEO Russ Brandon spoke to the challenges in finding facility availability for the 2025 season.

“As we planned for the 2025 season, our process from a league standpoint was to assess availabilities at our venues to create a schedule that works operationally across all eight markets,” Brandon said. “After reviewing venue availabilities, we decided the best option would be to add a sixth home game to St. Louis in order to best fulfill our team schedules. We are grateful for the support our partners, the City of St. Louis and the Dome have given us.”

The Battlehawks are 3-1 all-time against the Brahmas, with the only loss coming in the 2024 season at the XFL Conference Championship game. The games were decided by 10 points or less.

More information about the game and the full 2025 UFL schedule will be released at a later date. However, Battlehawks season ticket members who renew their seats by September 6 will have the first opportunity to keep their seats and purchase their tickets at a special price for the extra home game.
