ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (UPI) —Β A British snowboarder broke a Guinness speed record by reaching an average top speed of 92.99 mph while being towed by a Maserati Levante.
Jamie Barrow posted videoΒ to TwitterΒ showing him breaking his own Guinness World Record while being towed across a frozen lake in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
Barrow said he reached a top speed of 94.18 mph during his first run, but Guinness requires a second run and his slightly slower speed brought the average top speed down to 92.99 mph. The speed was enough to crush Barrow’s own previous record of 65 mph.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have broken my own record. I always knew there was much more speed possible with the right conditions and, crucially, the right car to tow me,” BarrowΒ said in a news releaseΒ from Maserati.
