GRAND FORKS (Heartland Newsfeed) — A Grand Forks-based Libertarian, following several bids for office in recent years, launched a campaign for secretary of state in North Dakota.
Roland Riemers stated that if elected, one of his goals is to “eliminate unnecessary paperwork,” eliminate spending by 5 percent or more and make online paperwork more user-friendly.
The news release touts many stances Riemers exercises on a wide range of political issues, including support for reforms of the legal system, shared parenting, ending the failed war on drugs in North Dakota and also opposes waterboarding, sex offender lists and gender bias.
Riemers ran for the school board in Grand Forks in 2017 and previously ran for state auditor in 2016, receiving nearly 23 percent of the vote.
