STAMFORD, Conn. (UPI) — World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announced it has come to terms on the releases of Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae.
“WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors,” the organization said on its website Sunday, without offering further details about their departures.
ESPN.com said this is the first time since May 6, 2016, that the WWE has announced the releases of multiple athletes. On that day, Wade Barrett, Damien Sandow, Santino Marella, Alex Riley, Cameron, El Torito, Hornswoggle and Zeb Coulter were all let go together.
Eva Marie, Austin Aries, Simon Gotch and Jack Swagger were separately cut from the organization earlier in 2017.
