Betty L. Burrus, 91, of Herrick passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 in Pana Community Hospital.

She was born January 21, 1930 in Lovington to the late John and Anna (Remmers) Wood.

Betty married Duane M. Chamberlain, and they later divorced. She married Emmett Burrus on August 15, 1982, and he preceded her in death.

Betty was a graduate of Pana High School, Class of 1948 and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed sitting outside, watching her birds. Her greatest joy was watching her little grandchildren riding their four wheelers & keeping them supplied with Twinkies.

Betty is survived by her son Kenny (Betty) Chamberlain of Herrick, several stepchildren and step-grandchildren, grandchildren Jake Chamberlain of Herrick and Rachel Kresin of Mode, great-grandchildren Joseph Kresin, Jameson Kresin, and Myles Chamberlain, and siblings Louella Harper of Grandview, MO, Ronnie Wood of Tower Hill, and Johnny (Karen) Wood of Oconee.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings LaVerne Spurgeon, Bobby Wood, Joan Vits, and Donny Wood.

Per Betty’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside inurnment will take place at Price Cemetery, Oconee at a later date.

Memorials in Betty’s honor may be made to the Herrick First Responders and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
