Cheryl Ann Goodwin, 62, of Shelbyville, passed away at 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2021 in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Cheryl was born on March 11, 1959 in Vandalia, the daughter of Jimmie Edgar and Barbara Sue Johnson Porter. She attended high school in Assumption.
Cheryl began working as a bartender at the Spigot and then Sit N Sip both in Shelbyville. She later worked in the dietary department at Shelby Memorial Hospital and at the Villas of Holly Brook both in Shelbyville.
She was a member of Moose Lodge #1294 of Shelbyville. Cheryl loved people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed baking for others. Cheryl married Danny Goodwin on May 28, 1999.
She is survived by her husband Danny, son Jason Knapp of Ava, daughter Shannon Allen (Brian) of Shelbyville, step-son Dalton Goodwin (Mindy) of Shelbyville, step-daughters Aimee Goodwin, Mattoon and Stacie Goodwin-Ard of Florida, brother Dale Porter of Mountain Home, AR, sisters Susan Harbarger of Shelbyville, Carla Arter (Rob) of Assumption, and Lynn Helm of Ava, and seventeen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 in Independence Cemetery, Ramsey. A celebration of life and meal will follow at the Moose Lodge in Shelbyville.
Memorials may be given to Moose Lodge #1294 for their scholarship program and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
