PANA — The Pana City Council voted Monday to table second readings of resolutions relating to downtown projects.

The readings were tabled due to the absence of alderpersons Butch Hocq and Glenda Garrett.

The resolutions in question pertained to a pending redevelopment project for 117-119 S. Locust and 142-144 S. Locust by Jack Matthews Development.

Alderman Tim Eddy voted in opposition to tabling both, while Alderwoman Katherine Stephens voted against tabling the second resolution.

A special use permit for a parking lot at Pana Community Hospital was approved.

Also receiving approval are event applications through the Pana Chamber of Commerce. They include the 2026 Farmers Markets at Kitchell Park, Heritage Day, the Fall Block Party, and the Christmas parade downtown.

Properties at 910 E. 2nd and 509 S. Locust will now be surplus property and will be advertised for bids. Both are currently empty lots.

Website design for a new website was approved through Civic Plus for $5,514. The initial price includes initial startup costs, with an annual renewal rate of $4,664 per year.
