HILLSBORO — Hillsboro Health will host a community blood drive with ImpactLife, the provider of blood components for local hospitals. The blood drive will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 1210 E. Tremont, inside Hillsboro Health Fitness and Aquatics Gym.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. Donors who last gave blood on or before June 11, are eligible to give at this drive.

Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.

ImpactLife is a nonprofit community organization providing blood products and services to more than 100 hospitals and emergency medical service providers in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin, as well as researchers and resource-sharing partners across the county.

All donors will receive an ImpactLife reward voucher for their choice of either an EGift Card ($20 for whole blood or $25 for double reds) at Target, Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, and more or use bonus points in the online reward store or direct a donation to Make-A-Wish Illinois.

To donate, please contact ImpactLife Springfield at (800) 747-5401 or visit www.bloodcenter.org and use the code 60126 to locate the drive. Appointments are requested.
