
BUNKER HILL (GameChanger Media) — 13 runs in the first inning helped boost the Piasa Southwestern Birds past Bunker Hill in a win on the road 21-1 on Tuesday.
Abby McDonald, Blythe Roloff, Ashlynn Huber, Maddy Seymour, Sydney Valdes, and Mackenzie Hampsey all contributed in the opening inning with RBIs. Piasa fired up the offense in the first inning. Southwestern Piasa Birds Varsity scored one run when McDonald doubled.
Hannah Nixon earned the win for Piasa Southwestern. The fireballer surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out four and walking zero. Mya Greenwell threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Abbie Manar took the loss for Bunker Hill. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing 21 runs on 13 hits and striking out two.
Piasa racked up 13 hits on the day. Maddy Fenstermaker, Nixon, and McDonald each had multiple hits. Nixon and Fenstermaker each managed three hits to lead.
Manar went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead Bunker Hill in hits.
