The Chamber was to hold a ribbon-cutting at Ugly Mugs Coffeehouse with new owners Kody and McKinsy Lietz at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6. (However, following the meeting, the Lietzes had to cancel is working with the Chamber to reschedule. More information on the ribbon cutting will be available once a rescheduled date and time is available.)
Dr. Scott Doerr would then update the Chamber regarding the nickel raffle, which is a partnership between the Chamber and the Nokomis Education Foundation (NEF). He is looking for volunteers to help sell tickets for the raffle for junior high and high school basketball games until the drawing on January 7.

Interested Chamber members are welcome to contact Doerr via phone or email.
The Chamber approved the expense of $200 for prizes in the Downtown Nokomis Association Christmas window decorating contest and another $200 for advertising the Christmas in Nokomis event, set for early December.
A committee for setting up the annual business meeting, officer elections, and banquet was established. Therefore, Judy Rupert, JoAnn Keele, Judy Beaman, and Jake Leonard are comprising of the committee. The duties include setting the date and time, venue setting, menu, and selection of the Business and Person of the Year. This also includes the procuring of plagues to commemorate the selections. That process began shortly after the conclusion of the meeting.
Rupert will contact Easterday Electrical to schedule the installation of the Christmas lights downtown and will likely occur around the Thanksgiving holiday.
With no other business, the meeting adjourned at 8:20 a.m., with the next meeting being the annual business meeting in January.
