We'll See About That with Ron Cey Episode 157 Leave Tom Hardy Alone! Ron Cey
CENTRALIA (Section618.com) — The Centralia Orphans had hopes of building off their road win last week at Althoff, but the Cahokia Comanches came to town and spoiled that and Homecoming night at Evers Field by beating Centralia 48-7.
The Orphans jumped on top early in the first quarter on a 40-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Daryle Jones to Davin Tabor. Jones got the start for the injured QB Carson Green, but Tabor had to leave the game later in the first half with his own injury and not return. The Orphans would also lose starting receiver Cam Newcomb to injury as well Friday night.
The Comanches, who had to forfeit last week’s game at Carbondale due to Covid protocols, took control from there racking up 470 yards of offense. The Cahokia defense meanwhile was stifling, holding the Orphans to less than 100 yards the rest of the night following the opening drive.
The Comanches improve to 2-4 (2-1) and will host winless Mt. Vernon next week. The Orphans fall to 3-3 (1-2) and must try to get healthy before next Friday’s game at Marion.
