AUSTIN, Tex. — We previously reported that a conservative group was under fire over multiple allegations. They would include sexual harassment, sexual assault, and rape by key figures within the organization. However, it has become apparent that one of those figures has been given his pink slip from Young Americans from Liberty (YAL).
YAL President Cliff Maloney was relieved of his duties Wednesday by its board of directors. YAL board chairman Jeff Frazee would release a news release through social media.
“Today, the YAL Board of Directors terminated Cliff Maloney from employment with the organization effective immediately,” the release states.
The release would stipulate that Maloney was losing the confidence of board members. Additionally, YAL staff members and key stakeholders were losing confidence in Maloney.
While YAL begins a comprehensive search for a new president, the independent investigation into the allegations continues.
The release implicates that they are working on ways to improve the HR process. Moreover, they are working to ensure a culture of trust, safety and accountability thrive within the organization.
The YAL Board is strongly encouraging anyone to come forward through official channels. YAL’s current HR representative is Amanda Haddaway.
Meanwhile, YAL has outside legal counsel and HR professionals investigating all matters. As a result, the Board is allowing for this process to run its entire course.
Status on Greiss’ YAL employment unknown
