The event was to take place next Tuesday, April 7.
AFSCME Retiree subchapter #87 has canceled their April 13 meeting in Hillsboro. Additionally, depending on the situation surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic, there may be a cancellation of their May 12 meeting.
Originally scheduled to be a traditional Easter brunch, Oak Terrace Resort in rural Oconee has revised plans for the brunch. As a result, only carry-out is available.
The phone number for carry-out reservations is (217) 539-4477.
Most communities in the region are either postponing or canceling their annual Easter egg hunts as a result of the epidemic. Check with your local organizers for more information.
Until further notice, St. Joseph Food Pantry in Ramsey is closing off access to the public.
Ramsey area citizens can make arrangements by calling (618) 423-2424. They ask that you leave a message with your name, phone number and date and time called. Volunteers will call to schedule a pickup time.
Some churches in the region are utilizing live streaming platforms for church services.
First Baptist Church in Pana will be live streaming Sunday morning and Wednesday devotional services until further notice.
Lakewood United Methodist Church will be holding services indefinitely via Zoom and teleconferencing for their Sunday and Wednesday services.
St. Patrick’s Church in Pana will be holding all of their Holy Week services online. As a result, no parishioners will be allowed inside as the masses are “sine populo”.
Other area churches holding service live streams should notify us at [email protected].
