Whether it’s on the beach, lake, sand, or snow, playing outdoors is fun for all ages. You won’t even notice the hours pass by while you’re having fun. If you’re willing to try something new, here’s a list of activities that you can do next weekend.
When you have big, strong waves at the beach, it’s time to bring out the board and go surfing. It’s the perfect water activity for thrillseekers, as the waves would test your balance and try to topple you down. It’s a euphoric experience when you ride a wave all throughout without falling. For advanced surfers, they can execute tricks, ride bigger waves, and even join surfing competitions for a bigger thrill.
Is it for you? If you think you have a good balance and you don’t mind getting wiped out, falling on the water in the middle while trying to ride a wave, then go ahead and try surfing!
Alternative: longboard surfing. A longer, wider board that you can use for surfing, the longboard is perfect for those who aren’t that confident with their balance.
If the water’s calm, paddleboarding is the perfect activity. A paddleboard is wider and longer than a surfboard, so keeping your balance while standing or sitting on it won’t be a problem. And since you’re on still waters, you’ll have to propel yourself with a paddle, hence the name. While surfing is the activity for thrillseekers, paddleboarding is for those who want peace and calmness at the water. It’s a great way to de-stress, as you aimlessly paddle in the sea to your heart’s content.
Is it for you? Are you stressed at home or at work, and you just want to clear your mind? Then find the closest beach, rent a paddleboard, and have fun!
Alternative: kayaking. Kayaking on still waters is also very therapeutic. The only difference is you’re sitting down. If you want to take it up a notch, try whitewater kayaking or rafting.
Another great way to relieve stress is to go full-speed on a snowy slope at the side of the mountain. It’s the perfect weekend activity for adrenaline junkies because you don’t have to worry about speed limits and cops pulling you over. It’s unrestricted fun for anyone willing to try. It’s not for everyone, though. It’s an expensive hobby to get into, especially if you try to get every gear possible in just one try. Renting them is a good option. But what you can do is invest in the gear, one piece at a time. For example, you can first get a Bogner men’s ski jacket on sale, and then follow it with waterproof pants, and so on.
Is it for you? Are you crazy enough to enjoy going full throttle on your vehicle when it’s going downhill? You’ll get the speed fix that you sorely need by visiting your nearest ski resort!
Alternative: snowboarding. The same amount of fun, just with different gear on your feet. Choose whatever you’re comfortable with and enjoy.
Don’t let yourself miss out on these thrilling activities. Make the most of your free time by enjoying these activities with your friends and family.
