We'll See About That with Ron Cey Episode 157 Leave Tom Hardy Alone! Ron Cey
Any car owner would know the light stress that car insurance instigates. Sure, not getting one would be a very foolish idea, but it does come at a price. Car insurance is one reason that people pay a little extra every month and choosing one or even dealing with their employees in the event of an accident is a big headache. But for those curious enough, there are certain ways one can maximize their policies or even get a cheaper deal out of it. One just needs to do a bit of research.
Paying Annually
Not only does it make paying your car insurance annually a lot more convenient, but it is also a lot cheaper than paying monthly. Although not many people can do so, for those that can afford it, it’s best to do it in one go in one year. For those who can’t afford it, they seek other options like paying using a 0% interest credit card. This amazing rate doesn’t last in perpetuity but it sure can save car owners a few hundred bucks of interest payment.
Secure Your Car
One way to lower your premium in your car insurance is to add security to your vehicle. There are some insurance companies who will offer a lower quote for cars with extra security such as alarms, tracking device, immobilizer, etc. But before purchasing such items, make sure to check first with your provider for the list of approved products that you can have installed in your vehicle.
Less Mileage
Reducing your mileage means an extra saving in your payment. But you will have to be honest about reporting your annual mileage to your provider or it will void your claim. Most people who only use their vehicle for daily work commute within their city will greatly benefit from this.
Adding Young Drivers
Before adding your children into your policy, think carefully about how good they are as drivers as new and inexperienced drivers can greatly increase your premium. Many insurance companies are also very aware and strict in cracking down when it comes to fronting. It is when policies are named after parents, but it is kids who drive the car.
Use Your Garage
Yes, I have a garage. Yes, it’s not where I park my car. But insurers all prefer cars that are kept in garages. It is a lot riskier than just parking it in the curb or driveway. So clear out the junk that’s piled in your garage and use it for what it’s been built for. It’ll lessen your premium and will greatly extend the life of your car.
Get a Black Box
A black box, like those used in aircraft, is a device that records your driving habit. Insurance companies always prefer vehicles with this installed, often offering policies with lower premiums if you get a black box installed in your vehicle. They will even go so far as reward those who drive carefully. This device cuts premiums greatly and will even help you be a better driver.
