NOKOMIS (Heartland Newsfeed) — Wolf hybrids are on the loose in and around Nokomis, according to a Wednesday press release from Montgomery County Animal Control (MCAC).
MCAC is working alongside the Nokomis Police Department to contain these animals as quickly as possible.
Both agencies consider this matter of utmost importance and are doing everything they can do under their power to remedy the situation.
Residents of Nokomis and surrounding areas are advised to be on the lookout and have offered some tips:
- Do not leave dogs, cats, small animals or children unattended.
- Do not approach them if spotted.
- Keep your distance from them, go indoors and contact MCAC at (217) 532-3334 or the police department at (217) 563-2141.
It is uncertain as to who is responsible for their being turned loose, but both agencies assured that they are investigating the cause.
