LITCHFIELD (Heartland Newsfeed) — Updates and further developments regarding the discovery of skeletal remains near Litchfield’s Lake Lou Yaeger have confirmed that it is not that of Macoupin County resident Denita Hedden, who has been missing since January.

“There was no apparent relationship between the disappearance of Denita Hedden and this case,” according to Illinois State police spokesperson Calvin Brown, who spoke at the press conference.
The remains were found late Wednesday afternoon by a utility worker who was clearing brush near the lake when the remains were discovered about 100 yards from the lake.
Brown noted that more information will be provided as it is cleared for release, as the investigation is ongoing.
