ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (UPI) —ย A British snowboarder broke a Guinness speed record by reaching an average top speed of 92.99 mph while being towed by a Maserati Levante.
Barrow said he reached a top speed of 94.18 mph during his first run, but Guinness requires a second run and his slightly slower speed brought the average top speed down to 92.99 mph. The speed was enough to crush Barrow’s own previous record of 65 mph.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have broken my own record. I always knew there was much more speed possible with the right conditions and, crucially, the right car to tow me,” Barrowย said in a news releaseย from Maserati.
