WASHINGTON (UPI) — Hope Hicks, the interim White House communications director, is now the permanent director, a White House spokesperson confirmed Tuesday.

Hicks, 28, was among the first of President Donald Trump‘s staffers in his presidential campaign, and became interim communications director in August.

She replaced Anthony Scaramucci, who was removed from the position in July; Scaramucci replaced Mike Dubke, who resigned in May. The Trump administration has thus had three communications directors in eight months.

Prior to Trump’s presidency, Hicks was employed by New York public relations firm Hiltzik Strategies before moving on to the Trump Organization, where her projects included work on Ivanka Trump‘s line of fashion and accessories. That position developed into a close relationship with the Trump family, and Hicks is one of the few White house aides who has avoided the infighting observed in the Trump White House, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

It added that she has not moved into the office designated for the White house communication director, and continues to work at a desk just outside the Oval Office.
