Rep. Allen Skillicorn (R-East Dundee) will talk to constituents about his “Right Now” budget proposal and address concerns about the state’s budget impasse on June 26 at a town hall meeting, according to a press release. The hour-long meeting will start at 7 p.m. at Skillicorn’s district office in Crystal Lake.

Just before the end of the spring legislative session, Skillicorn filed a budget proposal that balanced the state’s revenue and spending without any tax increases, the press release said, adding that Skillicorn worked on the budget alone, using elements of existing proposals and his own ideas.

“We are facing a number of issues in Illinois, like the need for a balanced budget that cuts spending to relieve the burden on over-stressed taxpayers” Skillicorn said, according to the release. “We spent five months in session and (House) Speaker (Michael) Madigan refused to even call a budget vote, despite several available proposals. Join me to learn about my “Right Now” balanced budget with no tax hikes and how we can move Illinois forward.”
