Illinois lawmaker proposes ending cash-bond system
SPRINGFIELD -- Illinois lawmakers have the chance to ensure poverty is never the reason a person stays in jail. The Pretrial Fairness Act has been newly introduced in both chambers and would reform the state's pretrial justice system and end the use of money bond. Sen.
