IHSA issues classification cutoffs for 2027-08

BLOOMINGTON -- The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met Monday, where the Board approved an update to the Classification Policy. They would further provide revised classification cutoffs in multiple IHSA sports that will go into effect for the 2027-2028 school year. SHELBYVILLE -- A Shelby County co-op team took home championship gold last weekend at the 2025 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Bass Fishing State Final at Lake Shelbyville. The sports co-op of Windsor High School and Stewardson-Strasburg High School won the state title with Myles Verdeyen, Hayden Porter, and Heath Westendorf fishing last Friday and Saturday. Sullivan, Okaw Valley football coop dissolves

SULLIVAN/BETHANY -- The defending Lincoln Prairie Conference champions are no more, at least as a cooperative entity for Sullivan and Okaw Valley. The Sullivan and Okaw Valley school districts each announced the end of their cooperative football program in separate statements nearly three weeks ago. Montgomery County judge refuses to block COVID-19 sports restrictions

HILLSBORO -- A Montgomery County circuit court judge is denying a recent challenge to the Illinois High School Association's (IHSA) recent COVID-19 guidelines on sports. Thomas DeVore and Katya King, parents of students in Hillsboro Community Unit School District 3, sought a temporary injunction last month barring the IHSA and the school district from enforcing the guidelines.
